Uninstalls

The first step in virus removal is to uninstall any suspicious or unnecessary programs and temp files.

You can use Add/Remove Programs from Start/Control Panel, but it usually leaves a lot of fragments of the program on your system.
To remove everything left over when you uninstall a program use Revo Uninstaller.
To clean up everything else left by general software activity use CCleaner.

  DOWNLOAD Revo Uninstaller
To uninstall a program with Revo doubleclick its name in the list. Revo will run the program's uninstaller software,
follow the prompts to uninstall the program. Once the program has uninstalled Revo allows you to delete any remnants
of the program that have been left behind, including shortcuts, empty folders and registry entries.

DOWNLOAD CCleaner
Cleans your system of temporary files, unused registry entries and other files left over from uninstalled programs.
Follow this advice for CCleaner.

DOWNLOAD  Java RA

JavaRa makes maintenance of the Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment easy, it can update Java and uninstall older Java versions.
Run JavaRa and click Search for Updates first, let it install the latest version of Java, then click Remove Older Versions to remove outdated files.
Java is a popular target for malware as Sun doesn't automatically uninstall outdated versions of Java when it updates Java to a newer version.
This can let malware attack your pc until the outdated Java files are deleted. Vista users need to rightclick JavaRa and Run as Administrator.
When updating Java from Sun's website hunt for the red Download JRE button, selct your Platform (e.g. Windows), don't bother to register,
then click Continue. Under Available Files download the Windows Offline Installation version and install it.
Then return to JavaRa and Remove Older Versions.

DOWNLOAD  PureRa

"Removes files from your computer that other mainstream cleaning programs tend to oversee. Some of our targets can simply be removed to
create some valuable space while others are removed in an attempt to repair certain problems because they will simply recreate themselves."
